Tool: Diamond Flame
Begin by using a Diamond Flame EFile bit to gently lift and separate the cuticle from the nail plate. The Fine Diamond Flame is less abrasive, making it ideal for most clients. If you're dealing with dry or stubborn cuticles, the Twisted Flame variant is a great alternative as it provides a more abrasive option, to effectively lift and separate the non-living tissue. If you prefer a smaller flame, the Diamond Pear is perfect for this. Its smaller design will help you get into those corners and lift with precision. Choose your flame depending on personal preference.
Step 2: Exfoliate Non-Living Tissue
Tool: Diamond Ball (Available in Big and Small)
Next, select a Diamond Ball, either large or small, depending on the area you’re working on. The small ball is perfect for gently exfoliating non-living tissue and cleaning along the cuticle. The big ball is great for removing any dry skin around the nail, ensuring a clean finish.
Step 3: Remove Shine from the Nail Plate
Tools: Diamond Barrel or 240 Grit Sanding Bands
To prepare the nail plate for product application, use a Diamond Barrel bit to remove any shine. This step is crucial for ensuring that products adhere properly. Alternatively, you can use 240 grit sanding bands attached to a mandrel for the same effect, providing versatility in your approach.
Step 4: Finishing Touches
After preparing the nail, you can now wipe with Acetone or Isopropyl Alcohol. This step sets the foundation for a beautiful and long-lasting manicure. It’s all in the prep!
